Blessed for a good day!

Pop is feeling pretty decent today! They've given him two dosages of platelets so he's gained enough energy for them to release him! He's coming home this afternoon!

He sounds good and we're thankful to go into the Thanksgiving holiday season with him at our side!!!! He will still be in pain but the doc said "You'll have to pull up your bootstraps and learn to deal with it". Easy for him to say! haha

The many memories we shared with Uncle Phil included so many golf stories, but my favorite was when Uncle Phil and I decided to take up golfing, we managed to hack our way onto the greens. Neither one of us would want to tee off first for fear of duffing our shot. Don't know how many times we let a foursome go by, before we tee'ed off. But the best story, when Uncle Phil and I were golfing at Calumet Golf Center. We were on the 4th or 5th hole when we spotted 2 crazy women walking across the fairways oblivious to the golfers hollering at them to get out of the way. Uncle Phil could have crawled into a hole when he realized it was Kathy's mom. She nonchalantly told Uncle Phil, with a little pride, that she found some golf balls lying around on the fairways. You should have seen the look on Uncle Phil face, he clearly did not want to acknowledge her at all.
Her actions may have been prompt by his favorite item in his golf bag, a ball retriever for his many water hole shots.

Oh my God Joe, i remember that day well. It was Sue & I walking across the greens and she apparently didn't know either because she never said a word.
(perhaps it was shock)
...How about spitting on his hand and combing his few hairs across his forehead to keep those wirey puppies down. I remember Rena laughing so hard and telling him " Do it again, Uncle Phil"

Here's to my favorite uncle to golf with! I too have a great golf story to share. I remember one of the first courses I played. Uncle Phil,Dad,Joey, and myself decided to go play at Longwood golf course, beleive me it had the perfect name. We all decided to save some money, and not rent a cart,so here we all go walking this course carring our clubs. We finished nine holes, and got back to the club house we saw these pull carts to rent for $1.00,we all grabed one. But the best ever was watching Uncle Phil try to get a ball out of the water, and it may not even be his. He was always looking for lost balls. I looked over at Uncle Phil and he had about six balls on the ground that he pulled out of the water with this beatup ball retriever he picked up at some garage sale. I remember telling him you need to get a fishing net. There wasn't one tree line or water hole on that course Uncle Phil did not find a ball. He's the only golfer I know that leaves a golf course with more golf balls then he started with. I still golf at that course, and this will always be my favorite memories. Love you Uncle Phil
